Eileen M. Buzzelli is the Director of FirstEnergy Technologies at FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., one of the nation’s largest investor-owned electric power companies, which is  headquartered in Akron, Ohio.

Ms. Buzzelli has over 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry at the various operating and service companies of FirstEnergy.  Her career spans the nuclear and fossil generation businesses and strategic operation areas.  Prior to her present position, she held a variety of management positions in nuclear licensing, rates and regulatory affairs, commodity operations, advanced technologies, and business development.

She leads the company’s diverse research activities, responsible for evaluation, testing, and application of emerging technologies that enhance FirstEnergy’s business strategies. She manages a portfolio of projects to deliver product and service innovations and operational improvements in FirstEnergy’s generation, delivery, and energy-supply businesses.

Ms. Buzzelli serves on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition.  She is a member of The University of Akron’s Advancement Council and its Women in Engineering Program Advisory Council.  She is an executive committee member of the EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute) Research Advisory Council, helping to set R&D strategies across the electric power industry.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio University and a Masters in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.
