Dianne D. Anderson is the Executive Director of GLEI. Ms. Anderson has more than 25 years of experience in top-management positions in the energy industry, setting strategies in oil, natural gas, and electricity-generation, and managing regulatory affairs with the U.S. and Canadian governments.

Ms. Anderson, who had held executive and managerial positions at British Petroleum from 1983 to 2008, was named the first Executive Director of the Institute in October 2008.

During her tenure at BP, she worked in executive positions around the U.S. and Europe: California, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Texas, as well as in the United Kingdom and Poland.

In her most recent BP position she lived in Los Angeles, serving as President of its West Coast Fuels Marketing division, where she was responsible for ARCO branded gasoline and un-branded diesel fuels west of the Rockies. The business integrated deeply with refining, supply and trading, and with the BP retail businesses.

Prior to that, she worked in Houston at North American Gas & Power, BP's marketer of natural gas products in North America, where she led the marketing work to identify and optimize customer trends in natural gas and electricity, and managed BP’s natural-gas and electric-power regulatory affairs for Canada and the U.S.

Ms. Anderson graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. degree in civil engineering from West Virginia University. She completed senior-executive development programs at Harvard, Cambridge University and Northwestern University, and was a visiting faculty member in Stanford University’s program on Customer Focused Innovation.
