Michael Rogol is CEO of Photon Consulting, LLC. He has more than two decades of experience working with large energy players with McKinsey & Co, MIT‘s Laboratory for Energy & Environment, Cambridge Energy Research Associates, and Washington Policy & Analysis. He focuses on emerging trends in the energy sector and is a leading expert on solar power.
Within the solar power sector, Mr. Rogol works closely with the CEOs and Boards of dozens of companies as a trusted advisor and consultant. In addition to detailed interactions with specific solar companies, he is the most widely followed  analyst in the solar power sector. He is the lead author of dozens of detailed research reports on solar power based on a global review of more than one  thousand solar power companies. In addition, his most recent book, Explosive Growth: Reshaping Energy and Infrastructure in the Next 1,000 Days, is being made into a documentary film titled The Next 1,000 Days for U.S. television network PBS.
Outside the energy sector, Mr. Rogol has worked in politics and in entertainment, including serving as producer of 20 20 20 series of documentary films on Asian youth culture and host of a prime-time show on Korea’s top TV network, KBS.
Academically, Mr. Rogol holds a master’s degree in engineering systems from MIT, an MBA and a B.S. in foreign service from Georgetown University, and was a Henry Luce East Asian Scholar in Korea.
