Energy Storage Business Cluster Meeting

Date:
Wednesday, June 21, 2017 - 12:00pm - 5:00pm

The meeting will have a technology focus and we are working with Argonne National Laboratory to present the Joint Center for Energy Storage Research (JCESR) (Thanks to CWRU and The Great Lakes Energy Institute for helping to organize this meeting) Founded in 2012, JCESR is one of the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Energy Innovation Hubs. The mission of these Hubs is to advance promising areas of energy science and engineering from the earliest stages of research to the point of commercialization. The mission of JCESR, DOE’s Batteries and Energy Storage Hub, is to overcome critical scientific and technical barriers and create transformative battery technology for transportation and the electric grid. JCESR’s research focuses exclusively on the development of next-generation, beyond-lithium-ion batteries. Such batteries could allow inexpensive electric cars to drive five times farther on a single charge, rivaling the 400-mile range of conventional gasoline cars. They would also make storing and releasing electricity on the grid just as cheap as generating it with natural gas turbines.

Other program items are under development. Of course we will allow ample time for networking.

The meeting will be held on the Case Western Reserve University Campus in Cleveland's University Circle neighborhood. Building and room location will be forthcoming shortly.

As always please pass the meeting information to others that may have interest. If you are interested in attending, please contact Bill Hagstrand, Sr. Director, Industry and Innovation, Team Northeast Ohio Office 216.363.5426 | Mobile 216.905.6889| bhagstrand@teamneo.org
