Congratulations to CWRU’s Julie Renner, winner of the ECS Toyota Young Investigator Fellowship

Julie Renner, a member of GLEI's Faculty Sponsorship Program and a Chemical Engineering Professor at Case Western Reserve University, has been the ECS Toyota Young Investigator Fellowship. She is one of only three scholars honored with this position. This fellowship provides $50,000 to support innovative electrochemical research in green energy technology to promote the development of next-generation vehicles capable of utilizing alternative fuels.

Renner’s research focuses on protein engineering, looking to develop innovative engineered materials that can serve as self-assembling templates for electrode components. This groundwork leads to application possibilities in fuel cells and electrolysis systems. ECS and Toyota are proud to support this out-of-the-box thinking and advancement in electrochemical research.
